| Preparing for your UCLA Executive Physical |
When you arrive for your evaluation, we will make every effort to make
your experience as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Please make every
effort to be on time, as your time here will be busy. We suggest that you
wear comfortable clothing, and arrive on the first morning fasting for
12-16 hours (water and medication are fine). Please closely follow any
other instructions you receive for test preparation, especially for
colonoscopy and
sigmoidoscopy.

Body
Scanning
with
PET-CT
|
| |
Here is
an
example
of a
normal
PET
image.
The
high
intensity
foci in
the
kidneys,
bladder,
and
brain
are
normal
findings.
UCLA
employs
PET/CT
imaging,
using a
lower
dosage
of
radiation
than
traditional
scanning
requires,
with
fewer
"false
positives"
problematic
with CT
imaging
alone.
The
scanning
at UCLA
is
supervised
by Dr.
Michael
Phelps,
who
invented
PET
imaging.
